Jennifer was only 7 years old. She didn’t understand why her mom and dad had to go to Heaven and can’t ever return. She felt alone when her aunt was too old and sick to keep her.
When Jennifer arrived at the Lahore Kinship Family in Pakistan, everything was new and scary.
Then 9-year-old orphan Mari took her hand. Jennifer was so shy at first. Her whole world had crumbled around her. But already by the end of the first day, Mari and the other girls at Lahore taught her how to make friendship bracelets.
The first Christmas was the hardest. But celebrating that magical day with her Kinship Family made Jennifer understand: her friendship with the other Lahore Kinship Kids, and all the love from her home parents – this is her Kinship family, complete with brothers and sisters, who all love her.
Jennifer learned that while she couldn’t choose what happened to her or her parents, she could choose how to love, and that made all the difference.” – Pastor Emmanuel, Lahore Kinship Family
Now almost 11, Jennifer has one of the brightest smiles in her Kinship Family.
Jennifer wrote down her promise. “Someday, I’m going to adopt children who need families, just like you all adopted me into your hearts. I’ll tell them that being an orphan doesn’t mean you’re alone.”
