The Gift of Life: Your Generosity Gave John a Second Chance

John has faced more hardship than any child should endure at just six years old. A member of one of our community programs in Uganda, John lives with his mother and four siblings. John’s father was brutally murdered, and his mother is sick with HIV. With his dad gone and mom struggling, John has a difficult time understanding why all of this happened to him. As Christmas approached, John couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. He’d always loved the holiday season. But last year, it seemed to hold nothing but sadness. And then just when things felt like Child Stories

Emergency Jiggers Treatment Camp

A young jigger is nearly invisible. The parasitic bug burrows into a person’s skin and latches onto blood vessels. Within days, it swells to over 1000 times its size, laying eggs outside its host’s body. Shortly after, the infestation brings pain, bleeding, itching, and infection. It’s difficult to eat, sleep, and walk. Children stop going to school. Adults can’t care for their families. The elderly become captive in their homes. Upholding God’s Word, Every Single Day

In John 9:4, Jesus says, “As long as it is day, we must do the works of Him who sent me.” That means upholding God’s Word daily, without fail. We must work hard in the name of God and all He has charged us to do. Every day, we follow God’s charge to uplift the orphan and the widow. You have joined us, and you make this mission possible. Kinship Projects uphold this challenge, too. They rescue orphans with empty stomachs, tattered clothes, and no beds to sleep in. They care for, educate, house, and lift up these orphans with Newsletter

Flooding in Phnom Penh: How this Cambodian Kinship Came to the Rescue

Occurrences of increasing temperatures, extreme weather, and natural disasters are on the rise. And when these tragedies happen, they put additional stress on already-struggling families who are living in poverty. We see this happening in real-time as we help those around our Kinship Projects. An example of this just occurred in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. Recently, the city was hit by a heavy rainstorm that caused extensive flooding, resulting in a lack of food and other resources. Fortunately, a Kinship Cambodia youth leader and photojournalist, Samuel, was on hand to document the damage. When he was asked why News

Ringing in the New Year with Open Arms at the Bakka Kinship Project

As told by our field team leader, Eddie: "As the clock struck twelve and the fireworks lit up the sky, the [Bakka Kinship Project in Uganda] opened its doors to welcome in the New Year with open arms. But for the children who call this place home, this celebration was about so much more than just ringing in the new year. It was about hope, love, and a sense of belonging. Pastor Geoffrey Kukiriza and his wife opened their hearts and home to over 200 children from the local community, inviting them to partake in a day filled with games, Community
