In world history, there is always the same consequence of more war: more orphans and more widows.
Read on to hear about what YOU have done to help in conflict zones.
The border between Thailand and Cambodia, both countries of great need with dozens of Kinship Projects between them, is 500 miles long. It only took a few days of conflict to displace over 200,000 people. This is in addition to the countless refugees already in Thailand from Myanmar/Burma.
When emergencies happen, you heed His call:
“Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” (Psalm 82:3-4)
Along both sides of the long border are displaced families, orphaned children, new widows, and elderly in need of protection, resources, and rescue.
That’s where your generosity came in.
You provided portable water filters, blankets, mats, and mosquito netting to hundreds who found high ground in the jungle. Then, the MannaPacks and noodle meals you sent filled everyone’s hungry bellies.
You may have already read about how a simple blue tarp means comfort and security for a refugee family. You provided those tarps in Thailand. Families running for their lives from war and flooding were able to sleep and rest, dry and protected from wind and rain.
Please continue to pray for regions in conflict around the world. Any gift to Emergency Relief or Where Most Needed will address this emergency and any to come.
