At the end of last year, Kinship Cambodia hosted its annual youth camping event. And what unfolded was something truly special.
Kinship Cambodia was joined by over 100 young adults from different churches for this experience of connection and growth.
The event began simply, with introductions and games that quickly turned strangers into friends. Laughter filled the air as walls came down and hearts began to open. But this was only the beginning.
Listening and Sharing
The youth dove into the Word of God, exploring the book of Genesis together, and learning about the relationship with God at the beginning and God’s purpose for His people.
Through powerful messages and Spirit-led worship, even our field team members described experiencing the presence of the Lord in a way they never had before.
After spending time listening to God’s Word, the youths gathered in small groups to reflect on what they had heard and what God spoke to them through the lesson. At first, some were quiet, unsure of how to share. But as a few bravely opened up, something shifted. One by one, voices began to rise. What God was speaking to them became too meaningful to keep inside.
They wrote down their thoughts, shared openly, and encouraged one another. And at the end of each discussion, they prayed together, lifting each other up and committing their lives to God’s purpose.
These weren’t just conversations. They were moments of transformation.
Living Out Their Faith
Many left with a renewed sense of calling, boldly declaring their desire to bring the freedom and truth of God back to their own communities.
And the impact didn’t stop there.
After a full day of laughter, worship, and connection, the group traveled together — two buses filled with excited, joy-filled youths — to the coasts of Kampong Som. At the beach, they continued building community through team activities that reflected unity, trust, and working together.
Then came one of the most powerful moments of all.
Four young people stepped forward to be baptized, publicly declaring their faith in Jesus. It was a beautiful and lasting expression of lives being changed, of young hearts choosing to follow Him.
