Doing Well: The Water You Brought to Kenya
West Pokot County has some of the most underprivileged communities in all of Kenya. Water is the most crucial issue, in addition to other crises like hunger and limited access to healthcare and education. The Kinship United Kenya team arrived with two pickup truck beds full of bottled water, food, and special cookie biscuits and milk for the kids. As they distributed their supplies to the crowd, the team saw the critical water crisis with their own eyes. Outcast and Alone: You Helped Steven When No One Else Would
When you support Kinship United, you’re supporting orphans who would otherwise have no one to turn to for help. Orphans who had to grow up too quickly and focus on survival. Orphans like Steven. The Light of the World: How This Event Embraced the Meaning of Kinship
What is kinship? It’s relationships, connection, family, tribe. It runs deep. And it’s what Kinship Cambodia strove to instill in their community through their latest outreach event. Lydia’s Story: Abandoned Siblings Survive and Thrive Together
Imagine five children, the oldest 12 years old and the youngest only 2, abandoned at the house of a stepfather they barely knew. Kids who grew up in Kenya discarded in unfamiliar Uganda with an abusive stranger. Lydia, the oldest girl, remembers living in that house of violence and neglect. Their father had died, and their mother shortly remarried an abusive Ugandan man. Their mother struggled to protect herself and her children.
