Surviving the Jungle: Refugee Relief for Su Hla* and Baby Oo*

Su Hla* and her baby Oo Khin* are new arrivals at our refugee relief feeding program in Thailand.

Thailand borders Myanmar, a country that’s been ravaged by bloody, relentless war for many years. Entire villages have been destroyed by airstrikes and fires, devastating families, creating countless widows, and robbing children of their parents.

Losing Hope

First, their animals were stolen. Then, their home was burned. Finally, an airstrike left a hole in the ground where their village used to be.

With no other choice, and nothing besides Baby Oo strapped to her back, Su Hla and her surviving neighbors fled into the jungle. They battled weather, dehydration, humid heat, and sparse food on their trek from northern Myanmar to the border of southern Thailand.

By the time they reached Thailand, many of their neighbors had not survived the journey.

That’s where the Wang Pa Kinship Project was there to meet them with life-saving support.

A New Beginning

Thanks to the feeding program you make possible for these resilient refugees, Baby Oo is growing fast! But this little family’s struggle was tremendous before they reached the lifeline you gave them.

For Su Hla and Baby Oo Khin, the feeding program is literally life-saving.

And that’s all you! Serving with us as the hands and feet of Jesus.

A gift to Emergency Response and Refugee Relief changes the lives of orphaned and widowed refugees who have faced unimaginable hardship. Establishing safety and security for “the least of these” is the first step to healing their trauma and uplifting them for a fighting chance to rebuild a new life.

That’s what Kinship United is all about.

A Global Crisis

Thailand is not the only country we serve facing a refugee crisis. Kenya and Uganda have starving refugees from war-torn neighboring west African countries, especially Sudan. India and Pakistan still have thousands of refugees from Afghanistan. And the Dominican Republic has countless families and orphans from Venezuela and Haiti, countries of extreme turmoil.

Will you please provide emergency relief today?

100% of your donation will directly support Emergency Response and Refugee Relief.

Thank you for your consideration to give!
