“His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this has happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.”

If we are to live like Jesus, then we are called to love and care for our disabled neighbors. One of the things I am most thankful for when it comes to working at Kinship United is that I have the ability to hear stories about how Christians are being the hands and feet of Christ all over the world.
One inspiring example of this is found in the Manasseh Kinship Church in Kenya. Earlier this year this Kinship Church loved on their community by spending time with people who are disabled.
Manasseh Kinship Church gave their disabled neighbors wheelchairs and walkers so they could get around more easily. They even pulled together the little resources they had and gave the men and women gifts like a saw and tools, a sewing machine, gardening tools, or cooking equipment so they could work. The gifts are ones that keep on giving by providing the men and women who received them with a sense of self-worth.
The whole day was a day of thanksgiving! The disabled neighbors were thankful to see how the church cared and loved them and the church was thankful to be able to be the hands and feet of Christ.
We are also thankful at the Kinship United office. We are thankful to hear this story, and others like it, and to know that our partners around the world are spreading the gospel of Christ in such a tangible way. We are also thankful for donors like you who make stories like this one possible by giving to the needs of our Kinship Churches and in turn, their communities!
