Alber’s Story: The Little Miracle at House of Mercy Indonesia

In Indonesia…

You uplifted a very special child!

A struggling Alber before his rescue
Alber when he first joined his Kinship Project.

Meet Alber, who turned 1 the same week his mother suddenly died. A year after that, the seizures began.

Alber’s frequent illness and seizures devastated his development: he could not talk, or even sit up like other kids his age. He stopped growing, so much smaller than every child around him.

Alber’s father moved back to his home village, so relatives could help - but in deep poverty, they could not. So he had to bring Alber to his factory job, where Alber sat on the bare floor every day for hours.

A Good Samaritan at the factory suggested the House of Mercy Kinship Project. The next time Alber had a medical emergency, his father made the difficult choice and brought him to his new Kinship Home.

Here’s where amazing Kinship heroes come in. You provided Alber’s medical treatments, nutritious food, regular physical therapy, and - pricelessly important – one-on-one education, worship, play, and a Kinship family who loves him.

A smiling young boy
“Alber is now a joyful, spirited child who radiates happiness. His journey is a testament to the power of love, care, and community support. We invite you to join us in praying for Alber’s continued recovery.” - Pastor Sudirman, House of Mercy Atambua

Because of YOU, Alber’s improvement skyrocketed. His undernourished weight quickly doubled. He’s ALWAYS smiling. And guess what? This resilient, jubilant child can stand up, and even walk!

Your kindness and generosity gave Alber the priceless gift of a chance at a full life.
