When Losing Your Grip Means Losing Everything

The crack of gunshots and the stench of smoke overwhelmed her senses. As piercing screams arose from the darkness, her mother grabbed her hand and together they ran. She ran as fast as her small legs could carry her to avoid being separated from her parents. Amid the chaos, they fled their village while flames enveloped their home.

The little girl struggled to keep up with the others. She felt her tiny hand slipping from her mother’s grasp. She knew her mother felt it too, as she looked back at her with wide, pleading eyes. Desperately, the girl tried to squeeze tighter. All it took was one collision, one man to stumble in their path, and her mother let go of her hand. She watched as her mother tripped and fell beneath the feet of the stampede. Crushed. And it was all her fault. She was separated from her family, the only family she knew.

Children burdened with sadness and guilt like this walk through our doors every day. Your support helps them to heal and to belong once more to a devoted family. When you give to Orphan Rescue and Care, you provide for the children’s needs, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. You feed them, care for them, educate them, and love them. This love and care extends to the community as well.

Without you, this would be impossible. Please continue to help rewrite these children’s stories and give them new memories. Help them to smile and laugh again.
