It’s heartbreaking to know that Grace’s story isn’t uncommon in orphan rescue. A little girl, alone through no fault of her own, struggling just to survive. And even more devastating? Without your help, Grace might not have made it.
At just three years old, she lost her mother. With her father nowhere in sight and no one to care for her, Grace was left completely alone—abandoned, vulnerable, and without even the smallest comfort of family.
This is her story.
Grace, barely able to speak and feeling lost, was rescued by the gentle hands of Pastor Pauline Kamanzi in Uganda. Pauline found Grace and brought her to the Buloba Kinship Home, a place where she could find love, care, and most importantly, hope.
When Grace arrived, she was scared, silent, and broken. Nights were the hardest. She would sit alone, her little heart weighed down by questions no child should ever have to ask.
“Why didn’t they want me? Am I not enough?”
But something beautiful happened.
Slowly, through the prayers of caregivers, the laughter of other children, and the warmth of her new home, Grace began to heal. Her Kinship Home wasn’t just a shelter—it became her family.
The love Grace received was transformative. It was the kind of love that doesn’t just say, “You matter,” but shows it in every meal, every bedtime story, every shared prayer. Little by little, Grace started to smile. She began to trust again.
The turning point came when she discovered her faith. One day, after a heartfelt prayer, Grace looked up at Pastor Pauline with a spark in her eyes and said, “If God has a plan for me, then I am not abandoned.” That truth became her anchor. It gave her the strength to rise above the pain of her past and look forward to the future with hope.
Present-day Grace
Today, Grace is in her final year of primary school. That’s right—the little girl who once felt lost and unwanted now dreams of becoming a teacher. She loves to sing in the choir, she mentors younger children at the home, and she is a beacon of hope for everyone around her.
Her smile tells a story of redemption. Her laughter is a song of survival. And her determination? It’s a reminder that even the darkest beginnings can lead to the brightest futures.
But here’s the truth.
Grace’s story didn’t change on its own. It took love. It took faith. And it took you. Every prayer, every donation, every act of kindness has played a part in Grace’s journey. You are the reason she doesn’t feel abandoned anymore.
When Grace says, “I belong to a family now,” she’s talking about you. You have been her hope, her strength, her reason to believe that she is not alone.
This is more than a story. It’s a testament to what we can do when we come together for the sake of the vulnerable. Grace is living proof that love can heal, faith can restore, and community can transform lives.
So, to every supporter, every person who believes in the power of compassion—thank you. Grace stands tall today because of you. You are rewriting stories, one life at a time. Let’s keep going, because there are so many more Graces out there, waiting for their chance to belong.
