There are so many negative messages about COVID-19 and you should know that you have given us a chance to share some good news. A number of you have asked about how we could possibly be prepared to deal with the thousands of children and the people scattered around the world in Kinship churches who would be left helpless by a World Pandemic.
Whenever we face a crisis like war or disease, I have a saying: “Man, I’m glad my dad’s the King!” That’s because I know I can do nothing without Him. And He must have revealed these needs to you or you would not have answered His call to give. Because so many of you have given forward, we are able to prepare for a crisis. The emergency response funds are there today, and in the last 15 days your generosity and faith has been our mighty wind.
For those of you who have supported emergency relief, thank you – because of your gifts, we are prepared in situations like this one. Since the beginning of this unfolding pandemic, your generosity is filling the pipeline with millions of meals and containers of supplies and medicine that will save lives in places like Indonesia, Cambodia, Kenya, Uganda, and the Dominican Republic. Your philanthropy is making sure these people will have something to count on in these days of uncertainty.
Though we’ve been through emergencies many times before, they usually involve rescue and care of young children, and this situation brings a slightly different focus. This time, we’re looking at protecting the thousands of elderly people who are part of Kinship Project churches. Many of these older people rely on food supplied by the Kinship Project, and all are in at-risk populations for the novel Coronavirus.
Here at Kinship United, we are keeping in mind that our call is to serve “the least of these”, no matter what the cost. Throughout history, the body of Christ, the Church, has bravely served the suffering during plagues, epidemics, and pandemics. We are working hard to be the hands and feet of Jesus and serve those who need it most in these uncertain times.
Thank you so much for your support. You’re the ones making this response possible right now, and this is only the beginning. Orphans and widows are at the bottom of everybody’s list; to most people, they don’t even exist. There’s no chance for any government bail-out for them. We are going to do everything we can to use the emergency funds you made available to keep them alive. We'll keep you informed.
We covet your prayers, and hope you’ll stick with us as we go through this. I am believing that this is all going to work out. And I’m glad our dad’s the King.
Blessings,
Craig Muller

P.S. I can’t forget to thank Feed My Starving Children, Kids Around the World, and Gleanings for the Hungry, along with all the thousands of people who have packed millions and millions of meals through them. I’m also grateful for those who put the effort and contributions that have helped to acquire millions of dollars worth of medicines for the clinics we support around the world. You’re life savers.
