“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat…” - Matthew 25:35
Starvation is a constant concern in the communities we serve together around the world. Mothers struggle to feed their children. Orphans don’t know where their next meal is coming from. It’s easy for them to lose hope when the only thing on their minds is survival.
But thanks to your generous support and a partnership with Feed My Starving Children, over 250,000 meals were shipped to Kenya in June. And Kinship Projects were able to deliver some encouragement to their communities by distributing the life-saving food.
And for those still struggling to find food during the pandemic, the nutritious MannaPack meals couldn’t have come soon enough.
Because of you, widows like Margaret and growing children like Sharon no longer need to fear starvation and can now afford to focus on other opportunities and priorities.
Margaret
Margaret is a widow with two children. She spent many a sleepless night worrying about how she would keep them fed. But thanks to the meals provided by your generous support and FMSC, she can now feed her children - and also feed herself.
Our field team member Elizabeth said that Margaret calls the food “manna from heaven.”
Margaret no longer sleeps hungry with her children. And she’s even working on a small business that helps her afford additional meals for her family!
Sharon
Young Sharon lives with her aging grandmother. Many girls in Sharon’s position resort to early marriages and pregnancies. But she has something else in mind for her future. And your support is helping to make that possible.
Previously, in order to keep food on their table, Sharon had to work every day on other people’s farms. But now, every month, Sharon walks to gather the nutritious MannaPack meals for her and her grandmother to eat.
And because of that, she has the time to concentrate on something else: her education.
Your gifts made it possible to ship this food all the way to Africa and deliver it to families in need, like Margaret’s and Sharon’s! You’re giving them back their hope and freeing their minds of the fear of starvation.
Thank you so much for your generosity and continued prayers during this time. As the world seemingly fell down around us last year, it was YOU who made sure orphans and widows were still fed and cared for. Your big hearts have helped them to survive this far. Keep up the incredible, life-saving work.
