Each and every one of the children living in our Kinship Projects has a unique story. Many of the stories are devastating and emotional. And many of our Kinship Kids have experienced unimaginable traumas. But once a child is rescued and brought to a Kinship Project, their story can have a happy ending.
Marita
Marita’s parents died in a road accident when she was just ten years old. Her aunt and uncle were supposed to take care of her and her baby brother. But tragically, they threw them out because the children might be “cursed.” Marita and her brother lost everything, including their clothes, books, and anything that could remind them of their parents.
For nearly a month, Marita and her brother lived on the streets with no food or shelter. They lived near a market and begged for something to eat every day. Until one day, a Good Samaritan, on her way to the market, rescued them. She brought them home, and was wondering how to help, when she remembered the Geta Kinship Project.
That Good Samaritan brought Marita and her brother to Geta. And ever since that day, they’ve lived happily together with their loving Kinship family. Pastor Alice says that Marita is the best behaved child in the Kinship Home.
Incredibly, Marita has learned to forgive her aunt and uncle. She lives knowing that one day she will be a blessing to them.
Thank you for giving Marita and her brother a place to live happily, and for giving orphans just like her a chance at a happy ending.
