It Takes a Village to Feed the Hungry
On August 7th, members of our local Kinship United team were blessed to have the opportunity to participate in a Feed My Starving Children packing event. They helped pack hundreds of boxes of lentil soup mix that will be heading to Kenya. Food shortages started early this year in Kenya, with droughts hitting hard as early as March, and it has not improved. The situation near the Lodwar Kinship in Turkana County is especially dire. A Look at Education Around the World with Kinship United
School is back in full swing, and summer is fading out. As you cheer your students on in their first days of school, your gifts are hard at work helping orphans in schools around the world. In Cambodia, your support is feeding schoolchildren and sharing the Gospel in impoverished communities. You are providing safe housing for university students in dangerous Phnom Penh, and giving school supplies to children who can’t afford to attend school. Born in a Brewery: Emmanuel’s Story
Emmanuel’s parents loved him and his sisters. They worked hard to provide for their children, doing the only thing they knew how: brewing and selling alcohol. But this made for an unstable life for Emmanuel. His parents were in and out of jail constantly, and their run-ins with the law cost Emmanuel’s father his life. His mother died shortly after in a car accident. Emmanuel’s life had completely crumbled. He worked on small farms for scraps of food. His oldest sister got sick and died too.
