Widows serve as the orphans’ caregivers, giving them new life and purpose, and giving the children the love and affection they desperately need.   In many cultures where our Kinship Projects operate, women who lose their husbands, are outcasts. They are seen as cursed or deserving of their fate. Where there are high rates of alcoholism and poverty, domestic abuse becomes a serious problem, and yet many women stay in dangerous situations because without her husband, a woman’s Caregivers

Orphan Rescue Spotlight: Three Girls Safe Today Thanks to You

Before finding her new home at the Cayacoa Kinship Project, Genesis had spent her whole life bouncing around between different homes with her two sisters. The real stories of orphan rescue always hit us hard. Kinship Care Profile: Cambodia

Leakena is an orphan. It happened like it could have happened to anyone – first her father died in a car accident, and then her mother died of cancer just six months later. Leakena was only five years old at the time, and she had nowhere to go. Kinship Cambodia comes alongside orphans and widows who are living with relatives within their local community, and need some extra support. And so, Kinship Cambodia found Leakena, who was living with her relatives. There was not enough food for everyone, and no money for school supplies or fees. Leakena and her siblings Newsletter
