Music can help heal children from their traumatic past

How Can Choir be Better than Therapy?

Music can help heal children from their traumatic pasts. Sometimes, when looking at a picture of smiling children from our Kinship Projects, it’s easy to forget how traumatic their pasts have been. But these are children who have all suffered greatly before finding their way into a Kinship home. They've lost their parents, either by death or abandonment. They have endured hardships that most of us can’t even imagine. One of the ways that the children express these emotions and process their hard pasts is through music. This Widow’s Powerful Faith in God is Transforming Her Village

Taking care of orphans and widows includes caring for them spiritually. In Cambodia orphans and widows are overlooked because of the Buddhist belief that what happens to a person in this life is based off how they lived in a past life. But Christianity teaches pure religion is to “look after orphans and widows in their distress” (James 1:27). What Does United Nations Day Have To Do With You?

How does the United Nations create sustainable development? Check out their goals to get a better idea. Monday was United Nations Day! This day celebrates the creation of the United Nations. Orphans and Widows Deserve a Place to Call Home

Since caring for orphans and widows means so much to you, I want to let you know about a special day. October 3rd has been designated by the United Nations as World Habitat Day. It seems that everything in today’s world has it’s own “day of recognition” so, what makes this one so important? Is it to take a second and think about the environment in which we are living, and how our carbon footprint will affect wildlife in their natural habitat? Important, but no. Is it to reflect on the state of our own towns, our cities, and our Orphans and Widows

3 Incredible Refugee Stories You Might Have Missed

One of my favorite parts of the Olympics was the team of refugee who competed together. Before Yusra Mardini even competed in the Olympics, she had already saved her 20 shipmates from drowning when their boat capsized while escaping from Syria to Germany. She swam for three hours to ensure that they all made it safely to land. Mardini was already a hero long before she competed in the Olympics, and she remains a hero still. All eyes were on Mardini and others like her during the UN Summit for Refugees and Migrants on Monday. The plight of refugees continues Child Stories
