Paul and Veronica’s parents were murdered, and in an instant, they were orphans.
Thankfully, their family was there to help…or so it seemed.
Paul and Veronica’s aunt took them to her house to stay with her. But her intentions were far from good. As soon as they got there, she put them to work.
While their auntie sent her own children to school, Paul and Veronica stayed at home to work around the house every morning. In the afternoons, they were sent into the fields to keep monkeys away from eating the crops from her garden.
Neighbors saw what was going on. But they couldn't do anything to help them. Finally, someone called the Buwanda Kinship Project and asked them to save these children.
When they were first rescued, they were covered with sores, had jiggers in their feet, and lice in their heads. They were enrolled in the Buwanda Kinship Project’s school, and were so excited to have the chance to learn. Paul is in 3rd grade, and Veronica is in 6th.
Today, they are healthy, growing, and their futures are bright! Thank you to Buwanda’s monthly sponsors!
