Change for Mary Mercy: From Jiggers to Joy

You might think that making a difference requires a big, grand gesture. Suffering from jiggers, Mary Mercy found joy in something as simple as a piece of fruit.

Meet Mary Mercy

When Mary Mercy was just two years old, her father passed away. Her mother, heartbroken and overwhelmed, struggled to provide for her. Without proper food or medical care, Mary Mercy's health began to fail.

But then God stepped in before it was too late.

When she arrived at the Bosnia Kinship Project in Kenya, Mary Mercy was in bad shape. She was weak from severe malnutrition and could barely walk due to a painful jiggers infection. Thankfully, with the help of generous supporters like you, she received the care she needed. Slowly, she began to recover and eventually thrive without the pain of jiggers holding her back.

A New Chapter

Now in third grade, Mary Mercy is full of life! Her bright personality shines through, and she’s always cheerful and excited about the future.

She absolutely loves the fruit she gets to eat after meals each day. For her, this simple treat feels like a luxury.

Mary Mercy used to believe that fruit was only for wealthy children. Now, she says she feels like a “rich child” too!

She’s so thankful for the regular meals she gets as part of her new life in a Kinship Home. These meals don’t just keep her and the other kids healthy—they also give them a sense of safety and stability, something many of them have never had before.

Not too long ago, Mary Mercy thought that a life like this was just a dream, completely out of her reach. But thanks to the love and care made possible by supporters like you, her life has completely transformed.

And now, she’s determined to give back! Mary Mercy wants to become a teacher so she can help children facing the same struggles she once knew. She’s already involved in her community through Sunday school and has a heart full of compassion and generosity.

Mary Mercy’s story shows how powerful hope, care, and kindness can be. She’s excited about her future and can’t wait to be a blessing to other children, just as she has been blessed.

Thank you for your incredible support and love for Mary Mercy and other children in Kenya. May God bless you for making such a difference in their lives!
