Innocent is a 14-year-old boy who has never met his parents. His mother died during childbirth, and his father was killed by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). When Innocent was born he was given to his blind grandfather who would become his primary caretaker, until he was killed too.
While Innocent was still a young boy the rebels came and raided his village. During the raid the rebels killed the elderly, raped women and took young men and children forcing them to become child soldiers. Innocent’s grandfather was killed during this raid leaving Innocent alone and in danger of becoming a child soldier.
Fortunately for Innocent, Pastor John Bosco found him and brought him into the Pabbo Kinship Home. Innocent now has a family in Pastor Bosco and the other home parents. With the grace of God, Innocent is healing from the hurt of his past and is beginning to look toward his future. He even dreams of becoming a pastor one day.
