Our unique and effective Kinship model brings both orphans and widows together under one roof, helping each other through their grief and sorrow. Widows serve as the orphans’ caregivers, giving them new life and purpose, and giving the children the love and affection they desperately need.
In many cultures where our Kinship Projects operate, women who lose their husbands, are outcasts. They are seen as cursed or deserving of their fate. Where there are high rates of alcoholism and poverty, domestic abuse becomes a serious problem, and yet many women stay in dangerous situations because without her husband, a woman’s potential to provide for her family is next to nothing.
Kinship United offers these women a way out and hope to live a meaningful life. Like you, we believe they are strong and talented.
Like Linet, who is mother to two beautiful children. Linet has been through a lot before ending up safe at the Geta Kinship Project. She was the laughingstock of her village because of the constant beating and abuse she endured from her husband. After one beating left her unconscious, she resolved to take her kids and run. That’s when she met Pastor Paul and he took her and her children in.
Linet loves serving as a caregiver to the Geta Kinship Kids. When she first moved in, she was depressed and frightened, often crying and struggling with insomnia. Now, her burden is light, and she no longer fears for her safety.
You can give women like Linet safe haven and opportunities to grow at Kinship Projects around the world. Donate today to care for a caregiver.
