Your commitment and generosity for orphaned children raises them into healthy, kind, and educated young adults who love the Lord.
When a Kinship Kid graduates from a Kinship Project, they become part of the Kinship Alumni – a group of incredible young adults who have so much love in their hearts, they continue to volunteer and mentor the Kinship Kids who grew up just like them.
Don’t miss reading this amazing story from Sylvia, a Kinship Alumni member in Uganda.
[I am] Sylvia, a proud alumni of Kinship United, running my own tailoring business and leading praise and worship in church. I feel a deep connection to the kids at Kinship Home[s]. You see, when growing up I ended up at the Kireka Kinship Project. But that’s a story for another day.
Today, I feel this pull towards Buloba Kinship Project because I truly believe in the power of sisterhood. When I was their age, I yearned for someone to check on me regularly, to lend a listening ear, and to offer a comforting hug. And so now, I’ve made it my mission to be that person for others.
These girls, they’re like echoes of my own past struggles. And Buloba being so close to my workplace makes it effortless for me to drop in and check on them. It’s not just about giving them a helping hand; it’s about creating a bond, a sense of belonging that I desperately wished for when I was in their shoes.
Even though running my own business and leading worship keeps me busy, visiting these kids is something I prioritize because it’s deeply meaningful to me. It’s about giving back, about being a beacon of hope for those who need it most.
So, as I continue on my journey, I carry with me the memories of my own hardships and the unwavering determination to make a positive impact in the lives of others. And within the warm embrace of sisterhood, I find strength, knowing that every smile, every laugh, every shared moment brings us one step closer to healing and hope.
